Monitoring in hostile environments with fiber optic sensorsMemphis

In the MEMPHIS project the objective is the development of a CPS (cyber phisical system) platform based on IoT technology and fog computing, for the monitoring and control of thermal generation power plants. To do this, a network of distributed and quasi-distributed sensors based on fiber optic sensors will be developed with the aim of monitoring different critical points subjected to very high temperatures (> 450 °C) and load, in CTCC (combined cycle thermal power plants), coal plants and biomass plants. Likewise, this network of sensors will feed a platform based on fog computing, in which the data will be stored and visualise the main indicators obtained from the analysis and interpretation of them, applying artificial intelligence techniques such as Machine Learning. Through the CPS platform you will be able to visualise the status of the monitored components in real time and make decisions based on the state of the plant for the improvement of efficiency or better planning in the maintenance actions.
