With the implementation of the project, the North Central State Enterprise envisages the implementation of activities aimed at implementing forestry practices and afforestation to improve the conservation status of forest natural habitats and support ecosystem services in state forest areas managed by the enterprise. The project will improve the conservation status of forest habitats by supporting natural regeneration, improving the production process for the production of propagating material, making a new afforestation of 5353 acres and supporting the rearing of young crops. The project proposal also envisages improving the functions and connectivity of forest natural habitats and protected areas of the Natura 2000 network by creating and restoring “green infrastructure”. In order to ensure the performance of these activities, the undertaking has provided for the purchase of specialised machinery and equipment with which to carry out the activities. For the promotion of afforestation activities, a regional information campaign is foreseen to inform the local population of the importance and vulnerability of biodiversity.
