AUTOMATED DEVICE TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY AND IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS APPLIED TO MICROBIOLOGY. THE PROJECT IS AIMED AT REDUCING THE THERAPEUTIC DELIVERY TIME (TTAT) OF MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS. IT IDENTIFIES SOME LIMITATIONS OF EXISTING EQUIPMENT (HIGH COSTS AND REDUCED FLEXIBILITY/PRODUCTION) THAT MAKE THE MANAGEMENT OF URGENT ANALYSES PROBLEMATIC AND PROPOSES A RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PATH TO BRING ON THE MARKET DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS ABLE TO OVERCOME THESE LIMITS THROUGH THE DESIGN AND REALISATION OF A PROTOTYPE OF A NEW EXTRACTION MODULE TO BE INTEGRATED INTO A ROBOTIC PLATFORM ALREADY IN THE ADVANCED PHASE OF DEVELOPMENT, THE DEVELOPMENT OF A UNIVERSAL METHOD TO EXTRACT THE DNA OF ALL TYPES OF PATHOGENS CONTAINED IN THE VARIOUS TYPES OF CLINICAL SAMPLES, AND FINALLY THE VERIFICATION OF PERFORMANCE USING CLINICAL SAMPLES.
