THE RESEARCH ACTIVITY HAS AS ITS OBJECTIVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTEGRATED SYSTEMS AND ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE DESIGN OF DEVICES TO SUPPORT BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES, IN PARTICULAR A PLATFORM ABLE TO IMPLEMENT AN EXPERT SYSTEM IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE LEVEL OF HEALTH AND INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING OF THE POPULATION, CONTEMPLATING THE POSSIBILITY OF ANALYSING A LARGE AMOUNT OF MEDICAL DATA STARTING FROM SCANS MADE AVAILABLE BY HOSPITALS AND ANALYSIS CENTERS, OR CARRIED OUT IN APPROPRIATE LABORATORIES, FAVORING THE DESIGN OF CUSTOM-MADE BIOMEDICAL DEVICES. SUCH A PLATFORM WILL ALLOW DEVICE DESIGN, INTEGRATING DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITIES, STARTING FROM THE ‘GENERATIVE DESIGN CONCEPT’, THROUGH THE COMBINATION OF 3D IMAGE ACQUISITION AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES WITH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES.
