The result of the project will be an innovative photovoltaic roofing system integrating a dedicated fastening system and an active multifunctional tile using inkJet ceramic printing technique. The proposed solution combines the advantages of traditional roofing with the functionality of electric power generation, additionally improving thermal insulation and giving the opportunity to personalise color and shape. The innovative printing system consisting of properly designed microobjects thanks to the use of diffraction effects allows for high energy gains even for the surface printed to a large extent. In addition, the combination of ceramic ink with metallic nanoparticles of a certain diameter allowed to significantly reduce the IR radiation heating the system by increasing the reflection coefficient for this spectral range. Specially developed printing methodology and ceramic ink allows for precise mapping of colors required by designers, which gives the possibility of installing a tile on a wide range of objects including restored objects. The use of the thermal process to fix the ceramic layer ensures a long time of operation without the effect of tracing the properties of the layer and changing colors.
