The project will be implemented in 16 primary schools and 4 general secondary schools located in the city of Wałbrzych.370 Ukrainian pupils are eligible for support, including 183K, 187M at all levels of education, aged 6 to 15. Ultimately, the project is planned to be completed according to the support path of 222 students (110K, 112 M).The political situation in which Ukrainian citizens find themselves made it necessary to leave the country and look for a new place of residence and stay not only for adults, but also for children. In Poland, compulsory schooling applies to all children up to the age of 18, which entails the need to attend educational institutions of registered children with refugee status. The methods of observation and interviews used during the work with children allowed to define several areas of assistance that fit into the specific objectives of priority axis 10.1. additional classes of Polish language learning aimed at communication, shaping the competences of understanding the Polish language.2. didactic and equalising classes eliminating to the greatest extent possible program differences,3. Classes shaping skills in mathematics, natural subjects, foreign languages, artistic objects,4. psychological and pedagogical consultations aimed at weakening the effects of trauma, silencing difficult emotions, fuller acclimatisation of children in a new place of residence and learning,5. integration activities organised outside the classes or outside the school building in order to strengthen ties with a group, learn to work in a peer team, 6. educational trips taking into account the use of subject vocabulary,7. equipping schools with teaching aids, e.g. dictionaries/electronic translators, textbook readers and electronic textbooks, equipment of school libraries.The main result of the project will be to increase and/or strengthen communicativeness, key competences, integration behaviour.
