The Municipality of Brenna, seeking to reduce electricity costs for residents and guided by the need to improve air quality in the municipality, has prepared this project, in which it plans to install photovoltaic systems on 227 private buildings that will produce electricity to cover the current demand of their residents using the prosumer institution specified in the Renewable Energy Sources Act, i.e. photovoltaic installations will be connected to the energy grid to which the current excess energy will be supplied. From the same grid, the energy produced will be collected during periods when the household demand will be greater than the production from photovoltaic installations. In addition, in the case of 84 buildings, owners will change the current way of preparing domestic hot water using coal combustion, installing electric heaters at their own expense, thus eliminating low emissions.
