The Massif de la Gardiole, a site classified since 1980, is one of the main natural areas of the Hérault. It is a long echine of garrigues of 5000 hectares between the urban areas of Sète and Montpellier, a gazebo overlooking the plains of muscat, the sites classified as coastal ponds and the Mediterranean coast. However, the site is weakened by high traffic (about 250000 people per year), conflicts of use (hunting, mountain biking, hiking), motorised traffic, fire risk and the recurrent presence of wild depots. Thus, the restoration and development project is characterised by the coherence of the various actions and spaces and uses to improve the reception conditions and the tourist enhancement of the site.
