Watercourse restoration works – Tranche 4

As part of a comprehensive program to restore the rivers of the Agly watershed, located in Aude and the Pyrénées-Orientales, the Syndicat Mixte du Bassin Versant de l Agly (SMBVA) is carrying out 12 construction sites in the municipalities of Montner, Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, Sournia/Trevillach/Campoussy, Tautavel, Espira-de-l Agly, Rivesaltes, Vingrau, Rasiguères/Lesquerde, Maury, Calce/Cases-de-Pène/Estagel, Ansignan and Saint-Arnac. This watercourse restoration operation aims to reduce the risk of flooding on the Agly watershed. This work consists of the management of ripisylve (selective felling of diseased or invasive trees, removal of jams) and the management of landings (remobilisation of sediments). These construction sites thus cover a linear of just over 18 km of watercourses and about 48 000 m² of landings.
