The Murs-à-Pêches and the Ruffins districts will be crossed by the extension of the T1 tram, which will improve their service and attractiveness. In view of these changes to come, the municipality aims for an inclusive approach, which aims to integrate the occupants present in the sector, either the economic actors or the people residing there. It is in this context that the rehousing of Gypsy households takes on its full meaning. The families present generally suffer from difficult housing conditions and experience great economic and social difficulties. According to previous studies already carried out, more than two-thirds of them want to be relocated to family land. In view of the start of the T1 tram project and the installation of the RATP maintenance and storage site (SMR) in the western part of the Walls-à-Pêches, the City wishes to bring the rehousing of gypsies in two phases: — phase 1 of rehousing to be carried out in 2021-2022 in order to release, on the one hand, the right-of-way necessary for the realisation of the SMR within the deadlines set by the tram project, on the other hand, the right-of-way necessary for the realisation of the family land defined as part of the rehousing project, – a phase 2 rehousing to be carried out once the family land and the adapted housing programme provided for in the project have been carried out. The operation will focus on the study of the project and phase 1 of the relocation of Gypsy families to be relocated.
