The new Urban Travel Plan (UDP), validated by the SMTC in July 2019, is a planning document that organises all modes of travel (travellers and goods) over a period of at least 10 years. The project is linked to one of the actions of this new PDU “Initiate education programmes for mobility in particular in schools”. It should enable children, and more broadly families, to acquire “mobility” knowledge related to the geography programme. Thus, children will have a base of knowledge enabling them, in the long term, to choose modes of transport consistent with their real mobility needs. The experiment is done with primary classes over three years and later with colleges in 2021 and 2022. In this context, the ERDF is requested to finance engineering expenditure with the aim of developing the offer of sustainable mobility and changing uses (information/awareness/communication).
