According to the very terms of Article 2 of its statutes, DEV UP’s mission is to support the various actors that make up the innovation ecosystem in Centre-Val de Loire. The Agency aims, in particular, to promote and strengthen the innovation potential of companies in the Centre-Val de Loire region through the transfer of technology and the dissemination of knowledge, but it also has a strong role in linking public research with companies and innovation networks. Its action, as indicated in the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (SRI-SI), helps to make the regional innovation ecosystem more efficient and to increase as much as possible the economic and social impact it generates on the territory. For this reason, over the years, the action programme presented under Measure 3 (“Actions to provide an enabling environment for companies in their innovation initiatives) of Axe 1 (Knowledge Society) of the ERDF Operational Programme has been adapted to also include the identification of investors to strengthen the number of innovative enterprises (which is a direct contribution to specific objective 1b "Increase the number of innovative enterprises by 50 % in the 2014/2020 programming period).
