As part of the exercise of their competence in the collection and treatment of household and similar waste, the representatives of Orléans Métropole have opted for a comprehensive Community policy for the collection and treatment of waste. For the past 25 years, there has been a significant development of sorting instructions with currently more than 35 types of selectively sorted products and 18 potential sorting gestures in a landfill that was not initially designed to receive them. The specific containers had to be multiplied and the journey of users on site became more complex and constrained in terms of space. The project presented aims to create, in place of the current waste disposal model, innovative waste management equipment respecting the hierarchy of treatment methods. Re-use will therefore be given concrete priority, with material recycling and energy recovery only second. This application for funding is limited to the reuse part of this comprehensive new generation waste disposal project.
