The operation consists of carrying out a feasibility study aimed at improving the flow on the Old Somme and restoring the hydroecological continuity on the Picquigny hydraulic mesh. This study is based on a first macro study (one-dimensional hydraulic modeling of the Somme) in order to identify more precisely the arrangements to be carried out in daily management (including periods of low water) and in exceptional situations (crue centennial). The development must take into account, the presence and management of Sensitive Natural Spaces near the site, as well as the maintenance and evolution of nautical activities (livewater journey) which is currently taking place on the old Somme. For each proposed development, the study will include a comparative cost-benefit analysis, the impacts generated and solutions to adapt them. The resulting work will be the subject of subsequent applications for European aid.
