The project consists of reclassifying the existing route for 9.75 km between the Route de Paris to Abbeville and the RD 32 in Saint-Riquier. The route corresponds to that of an old railway, now developed as a hiking trail, mountain biking and equestrian along the Scardon Valley. However, its coating is not suitable for a utilitarian cycling practice and connections to the road network are sometimes difficult. This route has a high potential for utility use in connection with the proximity of Abbeville and the municipalities of the Scardon Valley, potentially a population of 26089 inhabitants. This project also has a tourist potential, the crossing of the Ponthieu making here the link between the famous Abbey of Saint-Riquier, Abbeville, the valley and the Bay of Somme thus promoting the discovery of the Department by a means other than the car. This project is fully in line with the objective of reducing greenhouse gases.
