Creation of cycling facilities during the COVID-19 health crisis

Toulouse Métropole is committed to a policy promoting the development of cycling for daily commuting, as part of the implementation of its policy of rebalancing travel modes, but also with a view to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants generated by road traffic. This policy to promote active mobility has been reinforced with the Air Energy Climate Plan with the objective that the share of alternative travel to thermal motorised vehicles will increase to 50 % by helping to make gentle modes (mainly walking and cycling) the preferred way to travel for the inhabitants of the metropolis. Thus, the project concerns the development of sustainable and secure soft urban mobility infrastructure during the health crisis. The actions implemented are the creation of a greenway avenue de la Marcaissonne in Toulouse; the creation of a cycle path from La Crabe to Toulouse; the creation of a green road from the banks of Garonne to Gagnac sur Garonne; the creation of a greenway as well as dedicated cycling facilities for the Basso Cambo-La Ramée link to Toulouse-Tournefeuille; the creation of a greenway avenue Salvador Dali in Toulouse; the creation of a secure bike path and a sidewalk around the roundabout avenue de la Marqueille in Saint Orens de Gameville as well as the redevelopment of pedestrian crossings and cycles.
