Creation of structuring cycling facilities in the territory of Toulouse Métropole

Toulouse Métropole is committed to a program to improve its cycling network. Indeed, the implementation of the master plan of the cycling and green network of metropolitan interest (also called “bike plan”) aims at the objectives of securing travel by strengthening the continuity of routes, increasing the modal share of the bike, and supporting users of this mode. This policy to strengthen active mobility has been strengthened in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, as lockdowns and risks of contagion in public transport have significantly increased cycling. This master plan therefore provides for inter-municipal cycling links between the municipalities of the metropolis, gentle routes for daily journeys between the various attractive community places, including employment areas, educational establishments, leisure centres, administrative and cultural centres and centres, public transport. The operation thus concerns the creation of structuring cycling facilities on the territory of Toulouse Métropole: the development of a bidirectional bike path (300 metres long and 3 metres wide) located in the Mirail district, on Avenue de la Reynerie in Toulouse; the development of a greenway (250 meters long and 3.50 meters wide) located on the Chemin de Valette Haut in Tournefeuille.
