LLITCHY

In the continuity of the PACAERO project, which has made it possible to reach the current scale and a first rapprochement between the laboratories involved, the LLITCHY project (LAPLACE LGC IMFT and CIRIMAT allies for the development of hydrogen energy) aims to deploy high-level experimental equipment complementary to those existing to date on the Hydrogen Platform of Toulouse. This platform, dedicated to H2 technologies, is currently located on several Toulouse sites. At the end of 2024, a new, larger platform is planned at the Francazal site (Cugnaux) in order to bring all these test methods together and scale up in terms of experimental ambitions. The equipment that will be acquired in the LLITCHY project will cover three scientific themes: the production of hydrogen by electrolysis (Axis 1), the solid storage of hydrogen (Axis 2) and the energy recovery of hydrogen through fuel cells (of the PEM-BT type here) for the production of electricity (and/or heat) or through the combustion of hydrogen (Axis 3) for the production of heat (H2 boiler), the production of mechanical energy (H2, H2 turbine), or the optimisation of other combustions. The broad thematic coverage of the LLITCHY project illustrates the complementarity and potential of our laboratories for the development of hydrogen energy.
