The Territorial Coherence Scheme (SCOT) of the Compiègne Agglomeration identifies the station pole as one of the seven development poles supporting the development and attractiveness of the agglomeration. The need for restructuring of the station pole will be reinforced with the Roissy Picardie rail link project which will put the agglomeration in more direct contact with the Roissy, Ile de France, the Hauts-de-France city network and the national and European network thanks to the TGV. The dual objective pursued in the station district and: — to transform the station into a multimodal trading hub, gateway to the agglomeration with the establishment of a two-sided railway station, Margny Coast and Compiègne Coast – to develop urban renewal operations (housing, offices, services) on both sides of the station. Considering the interest of an overall development operation, the ARC wished to engage with the municipalities of Compiègne and Margny les Compiègne, the studies prior to the constitution of the file for the creation of the Concerted Development Zone of the station district. These studies are part of an eco-neighborhood labeling process.
