Priority action plan for drinking water: Renewal of Bras David, Vernou and Baie-Mahault distribution networks

In response to Guadeloupe’s drinking water supply crisis, a Guadeloupe Water Strategy has been developed and declined by a biennial priority action plan (2018-2019) with 37 operations including the renewal of the Baie-Mahault network. This work is also in line with the objectives of the Water-DOM plan and responds to strategic direction n°3 “Renewing drinking water networks” and “Renewing drinking water connections” The types of action corresponding to the Baie-Mahault network renewal project are the “investments necessary to secure the supply of drinking water (AEP) in quantity and quality: renewal of old networks and improvement of their management”. The aim is to implement a network renewal program that has been broken down into several operational phases of which 3 phases are the top priority. After completing the disconnections of the old network following the completion of phase 1 in 2016, it is now a question of continuing the next phases of the work programme, on 8.2 km of the drinking water system to be renewed with postponement/renewal of connections.
