EXTENSION OF GUADELOUPE MOLECULAR IMAGING CENTRE – CIMGUA

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Guadeloupe, after cardiovascular disease (27 % of deaths). The most common cancers in Guadeloupe are prostate and breast cancer. Launched in February 2014, the 2014-2019 Cancer Plan is part of the continuation of the first two plans 2003-2007 and 2009-2013. It is in this context that CIMGUA was born. CIMGUA receives about ten patients each day suffering mainly from breast, prostate and lung cancer. Today, the site wants to develop its business by diversifying the diagnostic offer. The project consists of an extension of CIMGUA to receive the necessary equipment to produce and control new radiopharmaceuticals. The objective is therefore to increase the diversification of radiotracists adapted to the needs of the population of Guadeloupe. The pathologies targeted by this work will be those that pose a major public health problem in Guadeloupe.
