The prevalence of cancers in the Guadeloupean population is non-negligible. The C.H.U.G is the reference site for medical treatment in Cancerology. Thus, the institution wishes to fulfil its role by optimising access to treatment, with a view to reducing the number of COVID deaths due to cancerous comorbidity. This is why the C.H.U.G is seeking European funds for a new simulation scanner and its equipment, dedicated to cancerology. This equipment will enable: — Strengthen accessibility to cancer care for the entire population: management of obese patients with cancers and also those with joint prosthesis (the metals that make up the prostheses create interference, thus reducing the effectiveness of cancer treatment) – Reduce inequalities and social fracture (have a quality of care equivalent to that of the Hexagon) – Optimise the effectiveness of irradiation therapy (the drop in the dose of irradiation preserves the cancer patients’ unattained organs), – Save time (with a shorter treatment time, the number of patients to be treated per day will increase). In addition, this project will introduce innovative medical technology equipment in Guadeloupeian territory (axis 1).
