The CHBT conducts examinations at the request of the institution’s doctors, city doctors and other structures. The CHBT has a scanner, x-ray and ultrasound rooms. However, the CHBT does not have an MRI within the establishment with only 2 vacations per week on the private MRI of Basse-Terre with very difficult access in case of emergency. This continuous absence from MRI is described by radiologists (team in place and potential candidates) as a factor of lack of attractiveness of the service. The objective of the operation is to implement a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device at the Centre Hospitalier de la Basse-Terre available on site 24h/2. The MRI would be positioned as an extension of the Imagerie service, instead of the current Endoscopy/Consultations plateau. The implementation of MRI at CHBT is part of a global project for the development of medical imaging in the territory of south Basse-Terre, a territory of more than 100000 inhabitants. It allows the CHBT to confirm its commitment to its recognised public service missions and the permanence of care. Now the only medical, surgical, obstetric (MCO) institution in Basse-Terre, it must strengthen its offer to strengthen its positioning.
