The Conservatoire du littoral protects 780 Ha of coastal forest on the territory of the classified site of the northwest slopes of the Pelee Mountain between the municipalities of Prêcheur and Grand-Rivière. This site contains the remains of old dwellings including the one still visible from Fond Moulin dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. These remains have already been the subject of preventive archaeology excavations in 2010 and then work on the consolidation of masonry in 2013. Today, the project of the Conservatoire du littoral consists of carrying out works to develop the remains and its surroundings with a view to their valorisation and the reception of visitors.
