RENOVATION OF THE PUBLIC LIGHTING

The operation is part of the overall sustainable development approach of the City of Lorrain. In general, public lighting accounts for almost half of the municipal electricity bill. The renovation of the entire public lighting park by technologies (LED lights, dimming devices, astronomical clocks) allows the municipality to significantly reduce its energy consumption and thus its greenhouse gas emissions. Indeed, the City of Lorrain has taken several steps to study the possibility of renovation of its public lighting: — Diagnosis carried out by the SMEM in 2017, – AMO mission for the realisation of a light plan and a proposal for an assembly of a renovation market. This mission led to the conclusion of: — Has the definition of a work programme, – In drawing up a financing plan – The contractual arrangement of the renovation market. Thus, the main actions envisaged concern the renovation of 1,268 light points. The actions planned are as follows: — Renovation of luminaires by less energy-intensive LED luminaires, – Removal of fluos balloon luminaires causing severe light nuisances, – Renovation of old equipment (masts, grid), – Adaptation of the level of illumination of the tracks according to their use (power reduction device), – Modernisation of control cabinets with the installation of astronomical clocks.
