EuroVelo are medium and long distance routes that allow pedestrians and cyclists to get around easily. They are based on clean site facilities, cycle paths (but mostly green roads) and low-traffic lanes. Under the impetus of the Hauts-de-France region, each territory seized the subject. Thus, the Urban Community of Dunkirk, by deliberation on 22 June 2006, approved the route in principle of EuroVélo No 4 known as “the Littoral”, which will eventually link Kiev (Ukraine) to Roscoff (United Kingdom). To date, 5 sections have been completed: — Section 2a, between Bourbourg and Gravelines; — Section 4, at Loon beach and Grande Synthe – Section 7a, from Dunkirk train station to Lycee F.Leger in Coudekerque-Branche. — Section 8, Dunkirk/Rosendael along the track. — Section 9 from Leffrinckoucke Station to Bray Dunes Town Hall This application concerns Sections 1a, 1b, 3, 5, 7b and 10: — Section 1a, along the channel of the Aa at Grand Fort Philippe – Section 1b, crosses Gravelines/Loon Plage. — Section 3, sector of the Galamé Park in Loon-Plage. — Section 5, Grande-Synthe sector – Section 7b, connects Lycée F. Léger to the Rosendael landfill – Section 10, sector of Bray-Dunes.
