The Nord Metha facility will be a unique industrial methanisation in France that will valorise waste and co-products from the oil processing industry. It will be located in the Petite-Synthe ZI of Dunkirk (59) near the Daudruy refining plants and North Ester biofuel production plants. This project is in continuity with the development policy of the energy axis of the Dunkerquois family group and will promote an industrial and territorial ecology. The installation is designed to: — produce in normal operating capacity 550 Nm3/h of biomethane injected into the distribution system. — integrate a significant flexibility of raw materials while incorporating (around 70 %) the waste and oil co-products of Daudruy and Nord Ester complemented with products from the agri-food industry. The supply plan will thus be secured without dedicated crops and without CIVE. This project is innovative from several points of view: — Recycling of waste and co-products from the oil industry – 100 % in line with the concept of circular economy. — The first LNG operator on the Dunkirk Urban Community – a collaboration between two complementary actors Daudruy and Agriopale, to pool experiments and the supply of biomass – The use of waste heat is present on site for the heating of digesters.
