The Covid-19 outbreak has strongly affected the Hauts-de-France region. The Lille Hospital has mobilised important human resources in terms of care and research, in particular to carry out tests and promote the inclusion of patients in clinical trials such as DISCOVERY, the main French therapeutic trial. The COVID EVOLUTION project is the short, medium and long-term response of the Lille Hospital in terms of COVID research. As a first step, the estimation of the incidence and prevalence of COVID 19 in children was crucial in determining the measures to be put in place quickly to protect young people and caregivers. Subsequently, to better understand the functioning of the disease, we have put in place a method to measure the immune response over time. This first study benefited from the National Research Priority label. The method developed will now be applied to the monitoring of other people at risk among the general population. Finally, in the long term, a unique clinical-biological database in the region has been established that we are now looking to sustain in order to enable new research to be carried out. These 3 objectives: protecting, measuring and sustaining are the 3 strands of the project which receives financial support from the European Union.
