Tourism is a master map for the economic development of the Massif des Vosges. On the basis of this observation, the Committee of Massif des Vosges and all the tourist actors of the massif have collectively defined a tourism strategy, in reference to the Interregional Plan of the Massif des Vosges 2007/2020. This strategy has been the subject of a Destination Contract since January 1, 2015, in the same way as 19 other destination contracts in France. This Destination contract revolves around: — five sectors (valley stations, visiting sites, well-being, homelessness, ecotourism) – working groups ensuring, in particular, the communication marketing component of the L strategy animation of each sector and working groups have been entrusted to an institutional tourist player in the massif who provides human and financial resources. The coordination of this destination contract and the consistency of the actions of the different working groups (streams and commissions) have been ensured since 1 March 2012 by a project manager and a half-time assistant, both representing an additional 1.5 FTEs. The purpose of this operation is to support the facilitation and coordination of the Contract of destination in 2020, as well as the implementation of specific operations.
