Located south of Valenciennes, at the interface between the city and the rural areas open to the Solesmois, Mont Houy is a dynamic sector composed of two attractive poles and growing employment pools: the University and the Technopolis of Transalley. Served by a variety of transport (viary and rail), it suffers from a poor connection to the station SNCF du Poirier. The construction of the soft link is therefore part of a mobility project and a global planning strategy. The objective is to propose a route that is technically and functionally optimal for users of public transport or gentle travel. The idea is to create a fast intermodal link especially for students, TER users, assets and residents. This development must be done in relation to the urban environment (access, link, traffic...) taking into account current and future projects. It should promote the attractiveness of the station, the area of activities, intermodality and the use of soft modes, in particular by securing the route.
