The Tracking project, led by the UFC, is based on the use of motion sensors, aimed at developing a monitoring platform (prevention) and alerts in the event of falls of fragile and/or dependent elderly living in institutions or at home. The objective is on the one hand to prevent falls, well upstream, through the study of the movements of the elderly monitored and to detect certain changes in motor behavior (i.e., motor decompensation) that can lead to falls. Where appropriate, a rehabilitation programme may be offered to people with these symptoms. On the other hand, in the case of an actual fall, the system must be able to respond (i.e., detection, alert and follow-up) in the most relevant and effective way possible. The project addresses the issue of isolation and the endangerment of older people highlighted by the COVID-19 crisis. The tools that will be developed will contribute to the social and economic recovery of the territory (less pressure on medical and social staff, opportunity to develop the offer of home support).
