Operation PHENOTIC 2: “Plant engineering pole on phenotyping dedicated to horticulture and seeds” Real estate component

The operation concerns the real estate part of Operation PHENOTIC 2, as foreseen under the 2014-2020 CPER. This operation is carried out by the Unit “Institut de Recherche en Horticulture et Semences” (IRHS) of the INRAE Pays de la Loire centre. This project is part of the rise of an engineering pole on phenotyping dedicated to horticulture and seeds. Plant phenotyping consists of the recording of the physical and observable characteristics of plants (size, colour, shape, health...) as well as the environmental conditions of cultivation in order to produce data to understand the development and physiology of plants. In order to meet these scientific objectives, the project consists of the construction of 2 buildings: a greenhouse and an extension of a shed. This operation contributes in a fundamental way to the structuring and increasing the visibility of Angers’ plant research cluster. The operation is part of Axis 1 “Strengthening research, technological development and innovation” of the ERDF/ESF 2014-2020 Regional Operational Programme.
