Crystallisation, the unitary operation of chemical engineering to isolate a product in the form of crystals, is both of great complexity and of vital economic importance. Crystallisation operations are now controlled in a fairly rudimentary manner and show recurring problems of malfunctions There is a real need for knowledge of the size of the solid which has a significant impact on yields and subsequent separation operations. INEVO TECHNOLOGIES in collaboration with OPTIMISTIK, ACOEM and the university laboratories LAGEP and SPIN propose to revolutionise the operation and maintenance of batch or continuous industrial crystallisers thanks to the contribution of digital technology and the important advances made in recent years in the development of new industrial measurement technologies. This project also involves ARKEMA, NOVASEP and ORIL, as well as the AXEL ONE Analysis platform. Innovative online analytics sensors and technologies will be evaluated and developed for access to the characteristics of the solid. The information will be analysed in a computer platform that will contain a digital twin of the crystallisation operation. The comparison of data will allow the operation to be maintained in operational conditions, to optimise the process and predictive maintenance.
