FACS Large Particles

At the heart of the scientific strategy of the DRF and the DRT at CEA Grenoble on technologies for the medicine of the future, the inflection “Organoid-on-chip” plays a leading role. This inflection is based on the microfabrication of 3-dimensional organ models, based on bio-inspired multicellular architectures, to better understand the development, morphology, functions and pathologies of these organs. This requires the ability to generate at high throughput thousands of organoids (e.g. pancreatics) and a morphological, functional and high-throughput characterisation of the quality of these organoids thanks in particular to the acquisition of the FACS-LP presented in this project. Through the acquisition of this instrument, the CEA will be able to improve our research and innovation infrastructure and give the Grenoble research pool the opportunity to become a global reference centre in the field of technologies for future medicine related to pancreatic diseases. Indeed, the teams of biologists and technologists of the CEA (DRF DRT) in Grenoble benefit from the presence at the Grenoble Hospital of a team of clinicians recognised in the field, some of whom are members of the scientific council of the “European Centre for the Study of Diabetes” and who have already collaborated with biologists and engineers in various projects to improve the treatment of diabetic patients.
