Through this operation “Strengthening of FIU activities in the context of COVID19”, the Red Cross wishes to increase its intervention with the general public mainly in the field of health, emergency accommodation and access to food aid to combat the spread of the COVID19 pandemic in Guyana. — Health: Following travel restrictions and containment measures, general medical consultations in mobile health teams (MSTs) were organised for the precarious populations of the coast. This work in coordination with other associative and health partners (CHAR, MDM, DAAC, Kikiwi Network..) aims to provide access to curative care as well as the possibility of having medical advice through teleconsultation held by a doctor. The distribution of teams makes it possible to cover the needs of the territory. To support this important mobile consultation system, volunteer teams come to ensure the assembly/disassembly phases of the sites. These two activities require an increase in the human resources (hire of interpreters’ mediators...) and the material resources (renting and/or purchase of cars, medical equipment) of the Red Cross. — Emergency accommodation: As part of its Emergency Accommodation Centre (CHU) scheme, the French Red Cross has sheltered people in a street situation in downtown Cayenne.
