The wild coast of the Presqu Île de Guérande stretches 13 kilometers from the Trehic Jetée at the tip of Penchateau. It hosts many floristic species of rare heritage interest at the regional level: Lys de mer, Chou marin, Oseille des roches. Several habitats of community interest are also represented, such as grey dune habitats, aerohaline lawns or dry heaths. Cap Atlantique carried out an inventory of these environments in 2015. This showed an overall average to poor state of conservation. In connection with the municipalities of Batz sur mer, Pouliguen and Croisic, the Department of Loire-Atlantique (owner of lands under its Sensitive Natural Spaces policy concerned by the restoration programme), and the environmental protection associations, Cap Atlantique has built a program to restore and maintain the aerohaline lawns of the wild coast. The restoration and maintenance of natural habitats of Community interest is an integral part of departmental missions under the Sensitive Natural Spaces policy. This action is combined with that of CAP Atlantic on the geographical area.
