Grenoble-Alpes Métropole carries the urban renewal project of national interest on the Villeneuve district of Grenoble. The Arlequin Trade Point had significant commercial weaknesses. The absence of a food locomotive, the low attractiveness of the supply, the aging or even degraded premises did not make it possible to highlight this commercial polarity. Moreover, the configuration of the places with dark, cramped passages and the introvert character of the trade pole (located outside the flows) appeared to be unfavourable to trade. The project aims to strengthen a commercial offer of proximity, viable and meeting the expectations of the population and the estimated needs of the assets present in the catchment area. At the end of the operation subsidised by the ERDF, which is part of a global project, four economic activities will be set up around the market square, carried out by associations or private companies.
