The history of textile has shaped the territory of the Pays des Pyrenees Cathares, and today, it is time to consider this industrial heritage. The Association Tourism Culture and Heritage in Pyrenees Cathares within the framework of the Commission Pays d’art et d’histoire has therefore initiated a scientific research that it wishes to highlight for all, in order to keep track of this industrial epic. Following a Workshop Industrial Friches organised in spring 2016, the valorisation of industrial history is materialised over the period 2017-2022 through several actions led by the Pays d’art et d’histoire and its partners, most of which are concomitant and feed each other. It is a question of conducting an inventory of this industrial heritage and of proposing a valorisation of quality of this heritage with in particular artistic creations.
