A new site, a new Emmaüs Mundo project, plans to change scale and develop the employment of insertion and its capacity to collect and re-use in the territory of the EMS North. The project is truly a “new generation” Cooperative and Solidarity Recyclerie project. All our ideas have been brought together, structured, and will materialise in new premises. Indeed, after the fire that our donation storage warehouse suffered in March 2018, it became essential for us to find a new site that is more suitable and in which we can implement our new projects in 2021. The change of scale of the Emmaus project will address the twofold ecological and social challenges: doubling the area of the store, doubling the number of employees entering our traditional activity and creating new jobs (target at 5 years: 120 employees welcomed per year compared to fifty today), increase in our collection capacity since more and more solicitations are already numerous, on the part of both individuals and professionals, better sorting capacity and objective to reach 50 % of re-employment (compared to 35 % today) and to reduce the share of ultimate waste.
