The Community Council at the meeting of 01 October 2018 approved the deliberation n°121/2018/CACL for the approval of the financing plan for the operation “Study on the Energy Recovery of Waste”. The specific tasks covered by this study relate to: — A fine characterisation of the waste deposit and a development on the prospects of development of the deposit taking into account the evolution of the deposit since MODECOM Guyana 2014 as well as the various equipment being implemented by the CACL. — The refining of scenario A of the ‘Study of the energy recovery potential of non-hazardous waste from Guyana’ carried out by ADEME. — The development of complementary scenarios developing, in particular, the possibilities for recovering the thermal energy produced. The study is divided into 5 phases: Phase 1: Characterisation of the waste deposit and identification of potential recovery pathways of the thermal energy produced Phase 2: Brief opportunity study on the valuation of the various deposits currently destined for landfill. Phase 3: Refining the energy recovery scenario for non-hazardous waste in CACL Phase 4: Deepening the most relevant scenario Phase 5: Support for the implementation and analysis of the different management methods of the overall waste treatment scheme
