Refurbishment and upgrading of Maripasoula aeronautical pavements

The Territorial Community of Guyana, as the contracting authority of this operation, is the manager of several aerodromes throughout the territory. The Maripasoula aerodrome built in 1976 is currently subject to certification, which requires the construction owner to implement a programme of work to bring this aerodrome to the standards. The Maripasoula aerodrome comprises: A 1 200 ml concrete track with a width of 15 ml. A relationship track of 86 ml and a width of 9.81 ml A parking area of 54 m x 47 m. Following the operational safety study carried out by the Civil Aviation from 18 to 25 September 2013, the width of the runway should be 18 m wide and the width of the relationship lane should be 10.5 m. The parking area is sized to accommodate a maximum of two aircraft. Currently the Maripasoula aerodrome is classified in code 1 B, the current dimensions of the aerodrome, make all aeroplanes in derogation including tourist aircraft. The most restrictive aircraft currently hosted in Maripasoula is the LET 410 of the airline Air Guyana and the CASA of the army.
