The project covers 4 green and blue contract territories: volcanoes of Auvergne, Livradois-Forez, Pilat and Dévès-Mezenc-Gerbier. In these four contracts, the restoration of the forest frame requires the networking of a three-tiered old wood frame; the organic tree that will be preserved until its death, the island of senescence (preserved forest population, of a few hectares), the forest in free evolution (= without exploitation). In each contract, this strategy is declined and relies particularly on public forests. In each territory, the National Forestry Office will carry out a first phase of reflection on the basis of existing data and methodological timing with its project partners (in particular regional nature parks and conservatories). A field reconnaissance and identification phase will then be conducted, training and awareness days, including the creation of an iloscope in the Volcano Park. Consultation with public forest owners will be carried out in parallel with the project, within the framework of the forest regime.
