The Regional Natural Reserve of Puy de Marmant has just been endowed with a management plan 2020-2024, the implementation of which is ensured by CEN Auvergne and the municipality of Veyre-Monton as co-managers. CEN Auvergne, the referring manager, is responsible in particular for actions concerning the restoration of the open thermophilic herbaceous environments present on the site and in particular of dry lawns during scrubbing. In addition, it will undertake studies related to the night lighting of this peri-urban site, the distribution of beehives in the beekeeping right-of-way, as well as the dynamics of vegetation taking into account the climatic, sanitary and stationary context of the site. These actions should make it possible to preserve exceptional dry lawns by their diversity and the many endangered species and in particular the entomofaune. Beyond that, the studies should make it possible to better understand the evolution of vegetation for almost 50 years and model its evolution over the next 25 years, in order to adapt future management choices. The results obtained will contribute to the improvement of knowledge and management of thermophilic MOHs at the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Massif Central level.
