Actions to promote sustainable mobility in Andújar.

Transport is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for 36 % of emissions. As a result, the mobility model of the city of Andújar puts a strong pressure on the city that is likely to improve. The bus station is one of the visitor access points to the city. Located in one of the neighborhoods with the greatest social polarisation of the city, currently a set of measures has been put in place for its revitalisation. The management is being improved ostensibly through the provision of new services and it is intended to take actions to improve the equipment. However, it is still necessary to work on measures to improve integration in the neighborhood, its accessibility and intermodality with urban public transport. The improvement of accessibility to the intercity bus station was one of the actions planned in this line within the report that was presented to the call. The acquisition of an electric bus, the establishment of smart pedestrian crossings and video camera-controlled access to the city centre area will help improve traffic, eliminate traffic in the downtown area, reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and stimulate other mobility options.
