Expanding and streamlining the passenger terminal No. 1 of Oradea Airport

The overall objective of the project is to increase the sustainable use of Oradea Airport by developing and modernising the airport infrastructure in compliance with the requirements of Commission Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 laying down the technical requirements and administrative procedures related to aerodromes pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1139/2018 of the European Parliament and of the Council and the corresponding annexes and decisions for the design and certification of aerodromes; EASA Certification Specifications (CS) and Guidance Material (GM) document for Aerodromes Design CS-ARD-DSN (Issue 5); RACR – AVZ; RACR-WGS 84; ICAO DOC 9157; ICAO DOC 9184; ICAO DOC 9137; ICAO – (Doc. 9683). The project “Extension and efficiency of the passenger terminal No. 1 of Oradea Airport” falls within the Operational Programme Large Infrastructure 2014-2020, Priority Axis 2 – Development of a multimodal, quality, sustainable and efficient transport system, Investment Priority 7c – Development and improvement of transport systems that respect the environment, including those with low noise and low carbon emissions, including inland waterways and maritime transport systems, ports, multimodal links and airport infrastructures, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility at regional and local level, Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for airport infrastructure development – new investment projects. The investments proposed by the project respond to the following eligible actions under OS 2.3: — New investment projects in airport infrastructure with the objective of construction/extension/modernisation of terminals, namely rehabilitation-modernisation/extension of movement surfaces (tracks, taxiways, platforms, etc.), accompanied by environmental protection measures By making these investments Oradea Airport will develop the infrastructure necessary to process an increased air traffic and will comply with the latest requirements of the aviation regulations, thus providing superior safety conditions in airport activities. Thus, the project “Extension and efficiency of the passenger terminal No. 1 of Oradea Airport” contributes to the following programme indicator for Specific Objective 2.3 Call for projects for the development of airport infrastructure – new investment projects: • 2S17 Modernised airports • 2S13 Passengers boarded and disembarked in airport transport: 0.027Mil. passengers/year By the technical solutions designed, the methods and technologies implemented within the project, the following environmental protection measures were included but not limited: the use of sustainable materials, which prolong the life of the infrastructure, and the reduction of maintenance works; the use of recycled materials for the construction of infrastructure; use of tech
