The COVID-19 health crisis highlighted the obsolescence of the Emergency Department of the University Hospital Centre of Montpellier, particularly in terms of patient care. Indeed, the current development does not allow an optimal patient journey and the lack of reception capacity especially in the areas of Emergency Vitales has been revealed. In order to be able to take care of all emergency patients whether in times of health crisis or not and to provide quality care, the CHU of Lapeyronie has set up a short-term “Coup de Poing” operation whose main objective is to fluidise and secure the care of the patients received at the Emergency Department. This operation consists of making investments in works and equipment to redevelop the Emergency Department in order to create an optimal patient journey as well as to increase its reception capacity with 10 additional places in the waiting room and 2 extra beds for the drying space (vital emergencies – resuscitation).
