UPGRADING TO THE STANDARDS OF SELF-MONITORING OF THE STATE-OF-THE-ART STAGE AND MAIN DISCHARGE POSITIONS OF THE SANITATION SYSTEM

The STEP Pointe-à-Donne, located on the seaside rue de la Vierge in Jarry, is an activated sludge treatment plant. The effluents to be treated come from the city of Pointe-à-Pitre, the urban part of the Abymes and the districts of Moudong, Houëlbourg and Convenance in Baie-Mahault and Arnouville in Petit-Bourg. These effluents come from the main discharge stations. Following the audits carried out on the whole of the Pointe-à-Donne sanitation system, malfunctions were found. Thus, a standard of self-monitoring of the wastewater treatment plant and the main discharge stations is necessary in order to meet the requirements of the Order of 21 July 2015 on collective sanitation systems and non-collective sanitation facilities. This Order sets out the minimum performance and self-monitoring arrangements for wastewater treatment plants (STEUs) with a capacity exceeding 20 p.e. This operation responds to a logic of preserving the environment and improving wastewater treatment. Technical studies and reconfiguration work will make it possible to report on the completion of the operation.
