Compensation for extra freight costs related to the ultra-periphery for the period 2021-2022 of the S.A.S TREFIMA

TREFIMA SAS, a subsidiary of LA SAS Biometal, is located in the local economic fabric and remains the largest wire and welding unit in the Martinique department. The company is a leader in the round steel, welded mesh and sheet metal markets. In front of it, imported products are manufactured by industrial groups with significant resources in research and development as well as investments in new manufacturing processes. TREFIMA will distribute its finished products (welded mesh) or semi-finished products (concrete rounds in the form of bars and coils) to a clientele composed mainly of wholesalers of construction materials and large works companies. A small part of the products are sold at retail. Reinforcements are mainly marketed to construction companies and craftsmen. In order to compensate for the additional costs of transporting the raw materials needed from their place of production in Europe to the place of processing in Martinique, TREFIMA requests the ERDF subsidy – Freight aid The operation therefore consists of taking into account the costs of additional costs relating to the handling and freight of the following products: wire coils machine, round concrete (bars). As at 31/12/2021, the turnover of TREFIMA, which has 20 employees, amounts to EUR 8606391 and it belongs 100 % to a group whose turnover exceeds 50 million, therefore TREFIMA is a large company.
