The Department of Ain is carrying out an ambitious project to renovate and enhance tourism and culture in Cerdon’s Coivrerie, which it has owned since 2018. Witness to an industrial adventure of more than 150 years, this building, protected under the title of Historic Monuments, is of particular heritage interest in the heart of the Pays de Cerdon, and is an element of strong attractiveness of this territory, alongside in particular the Soieries Bonnet à Jujurieux and the vineyards of Cerdon. The project aims to give back to the workshops of the factory “in their juice”, while offering an incredible immersion in the secrets of this industrial heritage. Augmented reality devices, virtual reality, multimedia, as well as many valorisation tools will support an innovative scenography to offer an immersive visit within the Cerdon copper factory in operation and thus allow the discovery of its history, its functioning and know-how.
