The objective of the project is to demonstrate, through a pilot unit, that it is possible to close the cycle between food and feed systems from a technical and economic point of view by recovering residues of plant biomass from industrial or associative activities that would move from waste to bioresource status. Thus it amounts to producing, without competition, food (man, animal). This approach is valuable in the territory of Martinique because the territorial actors (PNRM, CACEM, SMTVD) are sensitised to these issues. In the context of the circular economy and sustainable development, the main objective of this project is to set up a pilot unit giving added value to waste and producing feed for animals and discrepancies in the sorting of agricultural products that are healthy for human consumption. This AIT project has three main components: The training component for men: A specific qualification training programme is supported by the project in order to meet the expectations in terms of skills to achieve the objectives set. The equipment component: A pilot double-entry unit will be installed for the drying and processing of the products that will be recovered, the particularity will also be the installation of a solar dryer alongside the other equipment to carry out the desired experimental dimension, and a short storage space. The experimental component: agro-technological transformation in order to develop technological routes to be deployed in a territorial approach, and the intended human or animal food use. It will be a question of making an assessment on the territory, to know the potential source of bio – resources from agri-food activities. In addition, these resources of a diverse nature, with fermenting characteristics, will require laboratory tests to adapt the way of conservation, both for human and animal feed. It will also be essential to know the food value of processed products (energy value, performance). Regulatory issues relating to the management of residues, the transport of recovered or collected products, storage, an organisation will have to be set up between the various actors involved in this project.
